Thrill seeking in Bangor

We had a rare weekend without the kids and came to Bangor in North Wales to ride the fastest zip line in the world. For someone who is the opposite of an adrenaline junkie this was a tall order!

We veered away from our usual Camping and Motorhome Club sites and found a small independent site called Dina’s Farm Site in Bangor.

We came with some friends, so we utilised the back double bed, which by all accounts is very comfortable.

We got up early on Saturday morning and headed to Zipworld in Bangor to ride Velocity 2, which reaches speeds of 100 miles per hour over a beautiful slate mine!

You travel the zip line head first, which is quite unnerving. After the test line, which travels at 40mph, I bottled the big one. My husband and friends braved it and said it was really impressive.

Back to the site and our friends left to go home leaving my husband and I for a quiet night in. We headed off to explore the surrounding area. The site is pretty small with a fast river running through it and footpaths going each way.

There is a pub in the local village, about a ten minute walk away. The facilities look very rustic but were actually very functional.

Depending on where you are visiting from, there is a stunning road along the North Wales coast line that brings you down into Bangor past Conwy and Betws-y-Coed.

All in all, a great site and a lovely break to re-connect.
