The last leg of our journey took us to Camping Birkelt in Luxembourg. All the other rural sites were very quiet, so we were pleasantly surprised with how busy this site was.
It is great for kids, with the kids club still operating in mid September, as well as multiple play areas, an indoor and outdoor pool, soft play and bouncy castle. Our kids were in heaven. We were just sorry we weren’t here for longer!
The facilities are also really great for kids with a dedicated washing area with shower baths, mini showers and small toilets and sinks. The baths even have plugs, which we almost never see!
We have been to this site before but it has certainly had a refurb since two years ago. Clearly the chalet holiday is becoming incredibly popular as these tin sheds are taking over this site with many fewer pitches than two years ago!
We didn’t leave the site this time as there was plenty to do, however there is a walk down into the local town where you can catch a bus into Luxembourg. The walk is very steep through the forest however, and isn’t suitable for pushchairs!
